Not my usual...

Hello All,

Just a little post today to show you my latest card using the new Spellbinders Tapestry die and the Fabscraps Rusty Bear 2 paper

I know its very different to my usual style but I just didn't have the heart to cover this die cut up so no stamped image for me this week! Shocker!

Here is a close up of the the arrangement, I have again used the beautiful leaves from Prima Joulee Marble and the Mini Meadow collection.
The large flower is another handmade one with a center that I got from Scotties ages ago but I just love them!

Can you see the Diamond Dust on the top flower??? I love this stuff, its just perfect when you want a little bit of sparkle without having the Kithcyness (is that a word?) that glitter can sometimes bring in - but I do love myself some glitter too.

And lastly here is a close up of the die cut and the amazing detail that it brings out when you use a tan mat, can you see that embossing? just gorgeous.

Just to share in my experience I find the best way to get a detailed die to cut perfectly is to use the die as close to your rollers as possible.
for example for my Cuttlebug I "sandwiched" my cut as so from bottom to top, my A plate, two pieces of Shim, then my C plate, the Die next facing up, then Wax paper and Cardstock topped only with my B plate.

The cut was perfect as soon as I got this combo right as my very "loved" Cuttlebug didn't seem to want to play with the die in the middle of my "sandwich" O and waxed paper just helps release all of those little bits from the die so you don't have to spend hours prodding with a toothpick after each cut.

Well I hoped this helps and inspires you all to have a Crafty weekend!

Till next time,

Kristy

Fabscraps baby memory box by Kristy

Hello again, Kristy here with another Fabscraps and Prima project to share with you all.

This week I decided to go off the page with a Scrapware box I have been holding onto for a while.

The box is covered in acrylic paint with crackle paint over the top and then I have used Modpodge to adhere the beautiful Bunny Bear 2 paper down and I also used this as a sealer as well. (just remember to ink/distress your paper before sealing or it wont show up as much) yes I figured this out the hard way!

Anyway the Banner is made using Couture Creations Stamps, Docrafts string.and Tim Holtz/Sizzix Vintage Market Die and the Flowers are  Prima Joulee Marble and Mini Meadow.

Here is a side view showing off the Martha Stewart Doily Lace punch and some pearl string which cover the sides, If you do not have this punch I highly recommend it, I cant help myself from reaching for it for almost every project as it is so versatile so definitely money well spent.

Right hopefully you can see the "window" in this picture?!.
To get the beautiful design I popped a piece of acetate paper into an embossing folder and ran it through my Cuttlebug. Voila instant glamor!

The last little Cutie on this box is the super sweet Fabscraps Rocking Horse (which I have painted and covered in Platinum Stickles) its tucked in with some more Prima flowers and a little resin key.

And there you go one sweet little box to fill with memories!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend, Till next week

Kristy

Hugs

Hello all, Remember my sneak peek from last week?

Well it gives me great pleasure to share with you my first Scotties DT project using the adorable Baby Bear line from Fabscraps and the always beautiful Prima flowers Joulee Marble and Mini Meadow.

The image is another Saturated Canary digi called Jules, and she is colored using Tim Holtz Distress inks and markers
I have also used Distress inks on all my edges and used the Tim Holtz Stamp as a background on my image.
Then a leftover cut out of the Elegant Flourishes Die is used as a mask for gesso which I have topped with Prima bling cut into pieces to follow the lines of the swirl.

Its hard to see above but her petticoats are actually covered in Stardust Stickles

To make the Banner I have used Couture Creations Stamps, stamping the pennants in ink and cutting and distressing around the edges, then I added the letters but these were just a little too dark for the card so I used a white gel pen to add in polka dots. All I did then was add some Docrafts string.

I hope you take a closer look at these papers as they have so much to offer.

Have a great weekend.

Kristy!

Lara's Letters

Hello Bloggers,
Just a quick post today to share a project I made for my little girls room.

The paper I used is the beautiful "Once upon a springtime" by Graphic 45, this is quite an old paper line that I have been holding onto for a while but pop on over to Scottie Crafts shop Here to see the latest that G45 have to offer.

Whew, sorry for all of the photos, its a good thing we didn't name her Esmeralda or something like that

Anyway, everything has been distressed with Tattered rose Distress inks and the fussy cut pieces are mounted with foam squares to give it a more 3D look.
Als0 I have given all of the base pieces a good coat of Mod Podge to seal and protect the surface which is very important for these types of projects, trust me.

Then a little Stickles were added and that's it, I hope you like them.

Kristy:)

Competitions I would like to enter are

A Dream and a Wish

Hello Bloggers, Today I want to share with you my latest creation which I have colored using Distress inks and markers,
This way of coloring is all still new to me but im loving how easy these inks are to work with.

Thank goodness for Wendy at Scottie Crafts who gave me the heads up on using Tim Holtz water brush, this little baby is a dream, I highly recommend popping over to the Scotties shop Here and picking one up.
They come in two sizes depending on what you are using them for but the fine detailer is just perfect for stamped images.

The image I have used today is "Dandelion Girl" from Wee stamps, Isn't she just so precious with her little socks.

Here is a close up look at the vial in my flower arrangement, im not sure if you can see but inside are tiny dandelion seeds like in the image, Super hard to find in the winter but my little girl and I hunted till we found these three so they are quite special.

Speaking of flowers, There is a real mash of brands here including Iamroses, WOC, Prima and some handmade ones but they have all had little touches such as ink, glitter gesso etc to make them a little more special and also to help them mesh well with each other and the paper line which is from Prima's beautiful Pixie glen collection.

So here is one last look, I will leave a list with links of other products I have used below but feel free to comment if i have missed anything that you are curious about.

Thanks for looking.
